The Bachelor of Property is professionally recognised by some of Australia’s leading professional bodies. Students graduating with a Bachelor of Property can differentiate themselves when entering the workforce.

By learning in the University’s Sustainable Development Building, students will also be encouraged to expand their horizons and redefine the property industry of tomorrow, promoting sustainable practices. About the program

The Bachelor of Property provides a foundation for careers in the property development and management industry and the opportunity to specialise in Property Valuation.  The degree provides a comprehensive range of subjects including construction practices, feasibility studies, finance, investment and valuation, property markets, corporate real esate, land economy, sustainable development and urban development.

The global property market provides a variety of career opportunities for graduates in the property valuation, development and management sectors. Graduates that can demonstrate well-developed cognitive, technical and communication skills and the ability to select and apply methods and technologies relevant to professional practice are highly sought after in the field of property. With climate change a primary concern to most organisations, up to date qualifications in sustainability are also highly regarded.

The Bachelor of Property will provide you with a dynamic range of career pathways in the property industry. Opportunities include property valuation, property development, project management, investment, finance, portfolio management, asset and facilities management and research. Graduates are also equipped with a comprehensive knowledge of sustainable development, and will be able to seek work anywhere in Australia or around the world.

Professional accreditation

Students graduating with a Bachelor of Property are internationally recognised by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Graduates of this program will also be recognised by the Australian Property Institute (API) for Associate Membership with Certified Property Practitioner Certification (CPP).

Students who complete the relevant Property Valuation subjects as electives will qualify for certification with the Australian Property Institute as a Certified Practising Valuer with the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland, and New South Wales Fair Trading (conditional on meeting professional practice requirements).

The structure of the Bachelor of Property is based on 24 theoretical and practical subjects. This program is designed in close consultation with prominent industry professional boards to ensure the integrity and contemporary relevance of the degree.

Students can choose 2 subjects (20CP) from the list of available subjects from across the University, provided they meet the subject requisites, enrolment restrictions and any other faculty requirements.  

Property Valuation specialisation

You may use two (2) electives to specialise in Property Valuation. Completion of these subjects will result in recognition by the Australian Property Institute (API), and additional career opportunities in the property industry.

The below fees are based on an average per semester cost, fees may vary based on which subjects are selected and the number of subjects enrolled in for each semester:

  • 2020 fees: $20,040 per semester (based on 4 subjects per semester)
  • 2021 fees: $21,040 per semester (based on 4 subjects per semester)

When considering the fees associated with your studies, keep in mind that Bond’s accelerated schedule means you can finish your degree sooner and be out in the workforce up to a year earlier than if you went to another university.

This time saving also represents a substantial reduction in accommodation and living costs, plus a full year of extra earnings.

Academic requirements

Applicants with recent secondary education (within the past two years)

Applicants must meet the University's general minimum admission criteria.

In the January semester 2019 there were fewer than five OP/ATAR offers made in this program hence no comparative information on previous OP/ATAR intake scores is available.

Alternative entry pathways

For those applicants who do not currently have the required academic qualifications, there are a number of alternative entry pathways:

  • Bond University Tertiary Preparation programs
  • Bond University Diploma programs
  • Other institutional Tertiary Preparation Programs
  • Vocational education and training qualifications (Certificate IV and above)
  • Prior higher education experience (at this university or another)
  • Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT)
  • Professional or para-professional qualifications/experience
  • Employment experience verified by a statement of service from the employer stating the position title and length of service and a very brief statement on the tasks undertaken.

English language proficiency requirements

As tuition is delivered in English, all students will be required to provide documented evidence of the required level of proficiency in the English language. Read more detailed information on English language proficiency requirements for university study.

Credit for prior study

Subject credits may be awarded for previous studies. To apply for credits, you will need to submit academic transcripts including detailed subject outlines/course descriptions for each relevant subject and/or certified copies of testamurs to the Office of Future Students. Please refer to how to apply for credit for more information

Property Students Win International Competition

Bachelor of Property students, Cameron Dodd and Liam Hartenthaler won first place in the prestigious PRRES 2018 International Feasibility Competition, under the mentorship of Senior Teaching Fellow, Matthew Moorhead. The competition involved the students preparing a proposal outlining nine development options and researching a feasibility study and risk assessment of each option. The students were required to research local and territory government planning schemes, conduct market research to inform the development design, find comparable projects and fully cost their proposed development schemes.
