What can you do with your degree?

The global property market provides a variety of career opportunities for graduates in the property valuation, development, and management sectors. Graduates who can demonstrate well-developed cognitive, technical and communication skills and the ability to select and apply methods and technologies relevant to professional practice are highly sought after in the property industry. Furthermore, as climate change has become a primary concern to most organisations, up to date qualifications in sustainability are also highly regarded.

Outcomes

Certified property valuer

Certified property valuers estimate property or land values for sale or rental purposes, estimate the value of land and the buildings on the land before it is redeveloped and estimate the cost of rebuilding for insurance purposes. According to Seek (2021), the median annual salary in Australia is $130k.

Property developer

Property developers purchase land, dwellings and properties and enhance them in order to increase their resale value. According to Seek (2021), Australian property development roles are typically advertised between $60k and $90k.

Development manager

A development manager maintains strong relationships and influence with local/state government and other key stakeholders. Working from the design phase through to civil construction completion, they drive and motivate all stakeholders to achieve successful project delivery outcomes. Development director roles in Australia are typically advertised between $110k and $190k according to Seek (2021).

Bond’s Bachelor of Property is professionally recognised by some of Australia’s leading professional bodies enabling you to stand out in the workforce.  

Graduates will be recognised nationally by the Australian Property Institute (API) for Associate Membership with Certified Property Practitioner Certification (CPP) and internationally by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).  

Students who complete the relevant property valuation subjects, in addition to industry experience, will qualify for certification with the Australian Property Institute as a Certified Practising Valuer and registration as a Valuer with the Valuers Registration Board of Queensland (VRBQ).
