Today, project management skills are in high demand in almost every commercial sector. Professionals with project management skills enjoy career success at all levels in fields such as construction, finance, health care and related industries, information technology, government, and property development. 

Innovation presents limitless opportunity for project managers in the initiate, implement or influence phases of the life cycle, especially for complex projects. Innovation requires a cross-disciplinary approach using creative and entrepreneurial skills and blending financial, social, political, and environmental criteria to realise value for project stakeholders.

Outcomes

Product manager

A product manager is responsible for the management of a product, from its conception all the way through to launch. This will include researching customer needs and requirements and defining the why, when and what of a product.  A product manager will lead and work closely with cross-functional teams which can include engineering, marketing, and PR to ensure that the business’ goals are met. The product manager is also held accountable for the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Change agent

A change agent in an organisation will assist the company with adjusting to new business transitions and innovations. The responsibilities of a change agent include analysing changes that will benefit the workplace and produce change management plans and strategies in order to maximise employee adoption and minimize resistance.

Business analyst

A business analyst helps facilitate solutions for stakeholders by defining business needs and extracting and documenting requirements aimed at resolving a current problem or future opportunity, to overall help achieve the business’ goals. The role involves collaboration with multiple departments to develop strategies that enhance costs while improving reporting. From there, a business analyst will develop and monitor data quality metrics so that business data and reporting needs are met.
