Bachelor of Communication/ Bachelor of Laws

Where will your degree take you?

The Bachelor of Laws degree is an approved degree for the purposes of admission to legal practice in Australia, in conjunction with further study (Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice) or a traineeship.  As a graduate of the Bachelor of Communications and Bachelor of Laws, you can pursue a career in the legal profession.

Some of our graduates are now working in careers within the legal profession, while others with leading advertising agencies, as award-winning investigative journalists, in public relations consultancies, marketing roles, corporate training, and in other roles that reflect the evolving nature of communication practices. Altogether, the degree offers students a stimulating course of study and excellent career prospects.

Outcomes

A career in law

After being admitted to legal practice, you can work as a solicitor in a law firm, a government organisation, or a community legal centre.

Non-legal role

Graduating with a law degree provides you with an array of legal skills which include critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, conflict resolution and advocacy which can be transferred into any non-legal role.  This career pathway doesn’t necessarily require you to be admitted to the legal profession.  You can work in non-legal roles in management consulting, politics, journalism, human resources, investment banking and more.
