Professional biography

Victoria Brazil is an emergency physician and medical educator. She is Professor of Emergency Medicine and Medical Director of the Simulation Service at the Gold Coast Health Service, and leads the Bond University Translational Simulation Collaborative. Her main interests are in connecting education with patient care - through translational simulation for healthcare, and in developing high performing teams.

Victoria is co-producer of Simulcast – a podcast about healthcare simulation - and host of the Harvard Macy Institute podcast. She serves as a faculty member with the Harvard Macy Institute, on the Educators and Innovators programs.

She is a previous Fulbright scholar (2002) and received the ACEM Teaching Excellence award in 2008.

Teaching expertise

Victoria has taught across the learning continuum for medical students, junior doctors, specialist trainees and now specialises in healthcare team training. Her interests are in small group learning and healthcare simulation.
