Outdoor Learning

Why outdoor Learning

Outdoor learning spaces have been shown to measurably improve the personal and social aspect of learning, as well as academic achievement.

Outdoor activities and lessons can encourage academic skill development, creative and critical thinking, teamwork, collaboration and interpersonal communication; reinforcing the graduate attributes that underpin a Bond University education.

Outdoor Learning at Bond

Outdoor Learning at Bond is already a popular way of innovatively transforming learning and teaching practices by incorporating our beautiful campus and mild coastal weather into student learning. Several outdoor spaces and places can be utilised to complement classroom teaching, activities and lessons, and Bond is actively working on future plans for creative outdoor teaching spaces!

Planning a class outside can be a challenge for teaching staff, but the Bond Office of Learning and Teaching can support academics in finding an outdoor location, setting up equipment and planning a successful outdoor activity aligned with student learning outcomes.
