- Demonstrate an understanding of a coherent body of knowledge that includes (a) the Australian legal system and underlying principles and concepts; (b) fundamental areas of legal knowledge, including contemporary developments in law and legal practice; and (c) theoretical and conceptual knowledge in relevant humanities disciplines.
- Demonstrate competency in the exercise of professional skills, including an ability to (a) engage in legal reasoning and problem solving, as well as sophisticated critical and creative thinking; (b) conduct research into legal, factual and policy issues, and evaluate, synthesise and apply the results of that research; (c) engage in legal writing for both legal and non-legal audiences that is effective, appropriate and persuasive; (d) engage in oral communication for both legal and non-legal audiences that is effective, appropriate and persuasive; and (e) consolidate and synthesise knowledge within their chosen humanities disciplinary areas.

If upon completing the Bachelor of Jurisprudence you decide to pursue a career in the law, you can continue your studies with the Juris Doctor. The Juris Doctor, in conjunction with the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice is the pathway for admission as a legal professional.
If you are still studying the Bachelor of Jurisprudence and you decide you wish to practice law you may be eligible to transfer to the Bachelor of Laws degree.
