Bachelor of Business/ Bachelor of Laws

Where will your degree take you?

Bond’s Bachelor of Laws prepares graduates to pursue legal careers in the public or private sector, including solicitors, barristers, government lawyers, in-house counsel, judge's associates, academics, or business leaders. Our Bachelor of Business is a broad-based qualification accepted nationally and internationally by leading employers in a wide range of corporate disciplines.

Studying a combined Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Laws, provides you with career opportunities in both the legal industry as a legal professional and the business world enabling you to utilise the skills learnt from both degrees.

Outcomes

Solicitor

Upon being admitted to the legal profession, you can work as a solicitor in a law firm, government organisation or a community legal centre. You can choose to specialise in a particular area of practice or be a generalist. The size of law firms ranges from small, medium, large or boutique.

Senior business analyst

The projected job growth over the next five years for business analysts is 29.6 per cent making the profession in high demand across various industries. Business analysts help businesses improve their systems and processes through data analysis.

Inhouse counsel

Upon being admitted to the legal profession, you can work as an in-house counsel, where you will use your legal skills for the benefit of a particular organisation. You will often be involved in a range of areas of law particular to the needs of the organisation and therefore not specialise in one area of law.

Non-legal role

Graduating with a combined business and law degree provides you with an array of legal skills which include critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, conflict resolution and advocacy which can be transferred into any non-legal role. This career pathway doesn’t necessarily require you to be admitted to the legal profession.  You can work in non-legal roles in management consulting, politics, journalism, human resources, investment banking and more.
