Melanie Jackson

Professional biography

Melanie is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Law. She has been admitted as solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales for over 14 years. She worked as a corporate finance lawyer for Squires Patton Boggs in the UK, advising both lenders and borrowers on all aspects of commercial lending, including syndicated facilities, PFI/PPP transactions, property and development finance. Melanie has also held in-house positions advising on regulatory risk and professional indemnity matters. Melanie moved to Australia and joined Bond in 2011. She has experience in teaching compulsory law subjects including Legal Foundations, Private Law, Corporate Law, Civil Dispute Resolution, and Equity. Melanie also teaches elective subjects within the LLB. Melanie is passionate about teaching first year law students and legal skills. She enjoys a collaborative approach to teaching law and frequently engages in SOTL projects across the University. Melanie's particular research interests are in legal education and preparation for legal practice.
