Professional biography
Greg is a Fellow of Sports Dietitians Australia (SDA), an Accredited Practising Dietitian and a Level 3 Kinanthropometrist. He worked at the Australian Institute of Sport for 20 years as a Senior Sports Dietitian and Sports Science Medicine Manager. He has supported athletes across numerous Olympic Sports including Triathlon, Sprint and Slalom Canoe, Diving, Gymnastics and Water Polo. Greg has attended numerous summer Olympic Games and in 2016 was the Nutrition Lead for the Australian Olympic Team at the Rio Olympic Games. Greg is co-Head of Program for Nutrition and Dietetics at Bond, alongside Associate Professor Di Reidlinger. He is committed to making a difference within his daily work, be it teaching undergraduate or graduate students, working with elite athletes and coaches or undertaking applied research in sport and the wider nutrition field. He publishes original research, has written sports nutrition books and book chapters alongside countless sports nutrition periodicals. His research interests have been guided by practitioner questions when working alongside elite and recreational athletes and coaches. Currently, he is pursuing new technologies such as continuous glucose monitors and how these can be utilised in sport. He is a lifelong athlete and has maintained a competitive spirit in Triathlon and Surf Life Saving.Teaching expertise
Greg draws on his experiences in working in athlete settings to facilitate interactive and engaging opportunities for learning. He developed his skills as the coordinator of the Sports Dietitians Australia 4-day Sports Nutrition course which he managed for over 15 years. This course was delivered in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Canada. He routinely lectures domestically and internationally and contributes to the International Olympic Committee Sports Nutrition Course.
