The program at a glance

The Master of Laws in Enterprise Governance is an eight-subject program able to be completed in four semesters (16 months) of part-time study. It has been designed for law and non-law graduates who wish to enhance their enterprise governance skills, knowledge, and effectiveness.

The program is suitable for experienced leaders, directors, officers and board members, as well as for those aspiring to board membership and other leadership positions.  It is the only Master of Laws in Australia with a specific focus on enterprise governance.

The program explores the critical aspects of enterprise governance including ethics, commercial structures, strategy, risk, compliance, finance, tax and insolvency, privacy and consumer law, IT law and cyber security.  The focus is on law and ethics. All enterprise governance is underpinned by a regulatory, legal and compliance framework and it is therefore critical that enterprise leaders understand their legal obligations.  And effective enterprise governance must be, and be seen to be, ethical.

The program also offers Foundations of Enterprise Governance which is a compulsory subject and can be completed as a microcredential. This microcredential serves as both a standalone qualification and as a subject in the Master of Laws in Enterprise Governance which means when the program is completed the student will receive an Advanced Credential in Enterprise Governance and a Master of Laws in Enterprise Governance.

The program is relevant to leaders of listed, for-profit, and not-for-profit enterprises, small businesses, and government entities.  Students will learn from experienced board members and legal practitioners how to use governance as a framework for organisational excellence and ethical leadership.

The program is specifically designed to suit the schedule of busy working professionals. Most subjects in the program are delivered via a combination of two-day workshops (that can be attended either in person or online) and online modules. Assessments are rigorous, authentic and practical.

Lastly, the program is multi-modal and can be taken face-to-face at our Bond University Brisbane campus or online through our Gold Coast campus. The choice for the location of Intensive and/or delivery method can be made during enrolment in each subject.
