Located within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, the Bond University Medical Program comprises two sequential degrees: the Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt) and the Doctor of Medicine (MD). The program holds full accreditation with the Australian Medical Council and is recognised for its strong emphasis on educational excellence, student engagement and clinical readiness.

About the person

Foundational Sciences:
We are seeking to appoint several academics at Associate Professor, Assistant Professor or Senior Teaching Fellow levels within the foundational sciences. These roles will contribute to curriculum design and teaching delivery with particular focus on: Anatomy, Pharmacology and Pathology. Applications are welcomed from candidates with expertise in foundational sciences, clinical therapeutics or applied pathology practice. 

 

Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent qualification (a PhD is not required for Senior Teaching Fellow appointments) and demonstrate an established or emerging record of excellence in teaching, research and academic leadership within higher education, ideally within a medical education context. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams are essential.

 

Behavioural Sciences: 

We are also seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor (Level A or B) in Behavioural Sciences to contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of the BMedSt curriculum. This role will support curriculum delivery, accreditation requirements and the implementation of the program’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) framework. Applicants should hold a PhD and demonstrate an emerging or established record of effective teaching, research and academic leadership within higher education. We would particularly welcome expertise in the following: understanding social determinants of health, analysing population level behaviours, designing public health interventions, and addressing behavioural factors that drive health inequities, system performance, and patient safety.

 

Salary details

The salaries for these positions are outlined below and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, qualifications, and experience and attract 12% superannuation per annum. A clinical loading may be applied as appropriate. Salary packaging options are available.
