Bond University is committed to providing an accessible environment to support all students and their varying needs.
From our campus facilities through to academic resources, we provide a number of services that focus on creating an inclusive environment where all students have the same opportunity to succeed.
Information on these resources are outlined below.
Academic Skills Centre
Academic Skills Centre is here to help you develop your academic skills and reach your potential. We help with areas such as writing clearly and professionally, organising your ideas, studying effectively, referencing, and maths. It’s a free one on one personal service where we work with you to help you with your individual needs.
Students Helping Students
Starting university can be exciting—and a little overwhelming. That’s where our Students Helping Students program comes in. Located in the Main Library, this peer-assisted learning program is designed specifically for new students. It offers friendly, informal support from trained student mentors who’ve been where you are.
Whether you need help with study strategies, understanding course content, or just want to connect with others, our student mentors are here to make your transition into university life smoother and more successful. Through group sessions, study drop-ins, and campus-wide events, we help you build the confidence and skills you need to thrive.
Read&Write Toolbar
Read and Write toolbar for windows and Mac is available for Bond University students and staff to download.
The toolbar integrates with Windows based tools including Microsoft Word, Office 365 and web browsers.
Assistive Technology Room (ATR)
Located on Level 2 of the Main Library, the Assistive Technology Room is available for students registered with the Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor. The room includes a height-adjustable desk, and a computer equipped with specialist software such as Read&Write (for reading, writing, and study support) and Dragon (voice-to-text speech recognition). Students who would like to use this space or learn more about the software can contact the Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor for access and support.
Sensory room
Bond University is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive campus environment. The Sensory Room is a quiet, calming space designed to help students manage sensory input and take a break from busy surroundings. Students who feel this space would support their wellbeing can speak with the Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor about how to access it.
The Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor
Students with a disability or health condition are encouraged to register with Accessibility and Inclusion to discuss a range of support options that may assist them with their studies. For more information, see Accessibility and inclusion | Bond University | Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia or email accessibility@bond.edu.au.
Librarian support
Bond University has a dedicated librarian who provides support with accessing resources in accessible formats. Students can receive help locating, converting, or using materials in a way that suits their learning needs. Please contact the Accessibility and Inclusion Advisor to discuss access to this support.
