About this program

The Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management will prepare you for professional and managerial roles in the global tourism and hotel industries. You will develop the knowledge and skills required by managers in modern hospitality and tourism businesses with special emphasis on; hotel, tourism and event operations, sustainable tourism, tourism industry analysis, revenue management and human resource management. Emphasis is placed on practical and experiential learning through field trips, industry experience, internships, and real-life case studies. Students will undertake an Industry Experience Placement or an Employment Activity as part of the Beyond Bond program.

What you'll be studying

  • Year 1

    Your introduction to our Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management program will include the completion of your essential introductory and intermediate level subjects. These include Bond University core subjects which ensure every student develops skills in critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, and integrity, in addition to seven required subjects for this program which include Tourism Analysis and Evaluation, Sustainable Tourism and Indigenous Culture and two directed electives for Hotel and Tourism Management.

    The Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management degree at Bond is such a broad degree which can be widely used as a good base for anything. If you love travelling and working with people like I do, this degree will equip you with the key skills for the tourism and management space. After completing an internship at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort through my studies, I was offered a part time role. With my experience I will gain through this role, I hope to end up in management within the tourism and hotel industry.

  • Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management

    Students completing the Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management have the option to complete the 'Wine Studies' course as an elective subject.
    The Bond Business School is now a licensee of the content of the Barossa Wine School, which will allow students to complete the level 1 'Barossa Specialist' course in this subject.
    Students will participate in an excursion to Sirromet Winery, as well as complete a masked wine tasting to test your wine recognition and knowledge.
    Anyone who has an interest in wine can really benefit from taking Wine Studies. Wine is about passion, discovery, and enjoyment, so I invite everyone who identifies with those traits to take this subject.
