The Bull Sharks took a step closer towards their premiership ambitions by securing a spot in the QFA Grand Final with a gutsy preliminary final victory over Carrara at The Canal on Saturday.

It was a hotly contested battle against a physical Saints outfit with the teams entering the game with an even ledger. The Saints gave the Bull Sharks their only loss of the season at their home ground in round five, and the Bull Sharks bounced back thumping them by 73 points in round nine at The Canal.
It was a much closer affair on Saturday, but it was still the Bull Sharks’ day, with a late goal to Miles Enders in final minutes of the game and securing the win by 8 points.
The season is over for our senior women who fell 11 points short in their QAFLW semi-final. They will now gather around the QAFLW reserve girls who will play in a Preliminary Final against Morningside on Saturday night.

Bull Sharks v Carrara in a Qualifying Final at The Canal
Bull Sharks won
6.6 (42) - 5.4 (34)
How it was won

It was a humid day following a few days of significant rain and we knew how contested the game would be. Carrara like a contested game and that’s exactly what it was the entire game. Our boys matched them on the inside and eventually broke the game in the dying stages.
What made you happy
Carrara enjoy taking it up to us physically and imposing themselves on the game. The way our boys kept their eye on the footy and played the game in a style that has bought us to this point must be commended. Once again it was a total team performance with a sprinkle of individual brilliance.
Bull Sharks Footy
We had to adjust to a different style at times given the conditions and we were able to adapt when challenged. To win the way we did gives great confidence to the group and sharpens our edges going into the Grand Final.
The work to do

We need to take care of the footy far better. There were times when we turned the ball over in dangerous spots which gave the opposition a look. In saying that, we want the players to be brave and just take extra care with ball in hand.
Trademark Players
Archie Prime was fantastic down back, Jed Kowald has the courage of someone twice his size, Ollie Burrows- Cheng leads and plays in a way that bring others with him and Miles Enders does what he does to get us over the line. The entire team should be very proud to a man. To a man they were sensational.
