Where will your degree take you?

The roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia, has increased the demand for trained personnel in recent years while globally, the focus on helping people to stay at home longer (‘ageing in place’) continues to drive demand for professionally qualified employees. 

Graduates will be prepared to work across a wide range of areas including from health, rehabilitation and care to mental health, education and workplace health and safety.

Outcomes

Rehabilitation and care

There are a range of roles in this area which could include working in public and private hospitals specialising in neo-natal care, children, post-operative, and rehabilitation. You may also be based in a rehabilitation facility, or within an organisation working with physically impaired clients or within the aged care sector in both community-based and aged care facilities.

Mental health

You may choose to work within an organisation working with people recovering from a mental illness or across other mental health services across the private or public sector.

Health and education

There are a range of opportunities to work within community health centres as well as within the education include within primary, secondary and tertiary education.

Workplace Health & Safety

Working in the WHS space means your tasks could include injury prevention through education and training, rehabilitation, and return to work programs.

Further study options

Graduates will be well-placed to progress to further studies via Bond’s Master of Occupational Therapy program, receiving full credit for subjects studied in the Graduate Diploma of Occupation and Health.
