Master the science and experience of energy psychology approaches.
The therapy field has seen a recent shift from focusing on “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”. In line with this has been an emergence of 4th wave therapy approaches, brief psychotherapies that include a somatic or body-based components. These all fall under the umbrella of ‘energy psychology’.
The Science and Practice of Energy Psychology microcredential is delivered through a series on self-paced online modules and will provide you with the foundations of working with the body through energy psychology approaches. You will learn from Dr. Peta Stapleton, a registered clinical and health psychologist, Bond University Associate Professor, and world leading researcher in Emotional Freedom Techniques.
In this course, you will explore how energy psychology sits within the history and context of mind-body approaches, and the science and research that exists. You will be shown how adopting energy psychology practices can improve client engagement, treatment adherence, and health outcomes, as well as provide staff wellness. The course also addresses tailored approaches rather than one-size-fits-all, and service delivery in different populations.
The course invites you to have an open approach to integrating contemporary energy psychologies into psychotherapy, as working with the body alongside talking therapy is recognised as key when working with clients. You will learn the different types of energy psychology approaches, the interface between mind and body, and how to integrate them in psychotherapy fields. The course includes experiential sections so you can experience the techniques first-hand.
Upon completion of the course you will qualify with a formally recognised Microcredential from Bond University.
