Dr Sheila Gough Kenyon - Starbound Space Solutions
Dr Sheila Gough Kenyon is the Co-Founder and CEO of Starbound Space Solutions, whose award-winning AI technology captures human expert knowledge to accelerate innovation, documentation, and compliance in highly regulated industries.
Recognised as Launch AI Startup of the Year 2024, Most Promising Early-Stage AI Technology 2024, and Company Research Team of the Year in the Australian Space Awards 2025, Starbound streamlines processes for efficiency and transparency. A cognitive scientist with extensive experience leading strategic AI R&D initiatives, Sheila has lived and worked in five countries within the international space community, holding academic and government roles and serving on the National Committee of the Australian Space Diversity Alliance. She applies consensus-building methods from the Social Sciences to bridge philosophies across the global space sector, from Old Space to New Space.
Shaun Kenyon - Starbound Space Solutions
Shaun Kenyon is the Co-Founder and CTO of Starbound Space Solutions, whose AI technology captures human expertise to accelerate innovation, documentation, and compliance in highly regulated industries. With over 20 satellites in orbit bearing his name, Shaun is a globally recognised leader in space innovation, renowned for his expertise in new technologies, rapid-build schedules, and hands-on development. Over his 20-year career, he has held senior roles at Hiber Global, Spire Global, and Sen, leading interdisciplinary teams to reduce timelines and deliver cutting-edge satellite solutions. His achievements include serving as Program Manager and Chief Architect for Australian Space Command’s first technology demonstrator mission, System Engineer for the Australian Office of National Intelligence’s NICSAT-1 mission, Mission Concept Designer for Carbonite-1, and lead developer of the world’s first phone-powered satellite, STRaND-1, which launched three months ahead of NASA’s Phonesat. Shaun’s impact is further reflected in his numerous publications and presentations at international conferences.
