Transitioning to Circularity

Transitioning to Circularity: Challenges, Material Flows and Sustainable Design

The circular economy offers a transformative approach to how we use resources, moving beyond the traditional ‘take, make, dispose’ model to one focused the continuous use of resources at their highest value, thereby virtually eliminating waste. Circularity of materials is essential for mitigating the impacts of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution.

In this forum, alumna Victoria Vega Garcia and Assistant Professor Ned Wales will present their research and case studies, exploring the barriers to adopting a circular economy in Australia, including economic, regulatory, informational and ethical challenges, and offering strategies to overcome them. Armed with this knowledge, participants are invited to join an open discussion to explore practical solutions and how we can collectively accelerate the transition to a sustainable, circular future.
