Description
For decades, Australian filmmakers have been considered some of the most talented people working in the global film industry. This subject offers you an opportunity to explore some of the greatest films made in Australia, providing you with a variety of perspectives on Australian culture. You will watch, analyse, and discuss the thematic and aesthetic practices of a selection of contemporary and classic films. Popular genre films, such as comedies, musicals, crime, and horror, made in and about this country, will be used to explore issues of cultural identity, including ideas related to the land (both rural and urban), gender and sexuality, ethnicity, adolescence, and the indigenous experience.
