Description
This subject explores how design strategies and methodologies can play a fundamental role in understanding and addressing contemporary global environmental, cultural and social challenges through the lens of First Nation Knowledge. The subject will explore our place and position amongst a complex web of ecological systems and world views.
A particular area of focus is on the analysis of environmental practice and how we can address Climate change through an understanding of care, health and well-being for Country. The subject will introduce students to First Nations knowledge and discuss design and environmental practice through a decolonisation lens.

Learning outcomes
- Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of environmental, social and cultural challenges through Indigenous knowledge.
- Develop holistic thinking between ecological systems and design approaches through an aspiration to care for Country
- Demonstrate an awareness of Indigenous history and cultural context in Australia
- Develop analysis skills through case study and reflective writing in a culturally respectful and appropriate way.
