History. Humility. Heartbreak. Heroics.
The 2025 winter will forever be remembered as the greatest in Bull Sharks history. From miracle tries to ice-cold shots after the siren, record-breaking feats and long-awaited premierships, Bond teams delivered seasons for the ages. Here are ten moments that lit up our AFL, Rugby and Netball clubs.
The 10 Moments
1. The bench brothers: The try that shook Ballymore

Six minutes left, three points down. Enter Dion Samuela, who playing out of position, sees opportunity where others might not. He darts from a scrum and then curls a kick into greenspace on the sideline. Hamish Roberts - on the field barely 20 seconds, burns down the wing collects and scores. The try will live forever in QPR folklore.
2. Extra-time ecstasy: AFL menâs epic grand final win

Level at 42 apiece after four quarters of madness, the Bull Sharks had to dig deeper than ever. In extra time, Nick Francis and Jack Avage slotted clutch majors to deliver our first menâs premiership since 2019.
3. Mud, sweat and beers: Endersâ siren-slayer against Burleigh

It looked lost. Burleigh ahead, the clock gone, the conditions atrocious. Thereâd barely been a mark taken all day. Forward Miles Enders rises from the mud, pulls down a miracle mark as the siren blares â and drills it. Silence, then pure chaos. A rivalry win for the ages.
4. Long range bomber: Mia Stower rewrites the record books

Twenty-one super shots in a single game. Let that sink in. Against Moreton Bay Pulse, Mia Stower didnât just shoot â she set a new standard. She backed it up with 11 goals in the grand final, just for good measure.
5. From heartbreak to hero: Nolan crowned stateâs best
Dropped in 2023. Determined in 2024. Dominant in 2025. Shannon Nolanâs relentless drive turned pain into power, and her reward was the Emma Zielke Medal as the QAFLWâs best player.
6. The scrappersâ fairytale: Premier Menâs first premiership

Three wins by mid-season. Written off by everyone but themselves. The âscrappersâ refused to fold, rattled off nine straight wins, blanked Wests in a semi, smashed Easts in a prelim, and produced a comeback for the ages to lift the trophy at Ballymore.
7. Zara Colless: benchwarmer to best-on-ground

Sheâs the stalwart who never complains. Colless missed two grand finals, and played just 20 minutes in the third. As the Bull Sharks chased an historic fourth premiership, she was once again named on the bench. This time she entered the game at about 20 minutes, and turned it on its head â a try, two conversions and a penalty to pocket the Cheyenne Campbell Medal as the grand final MVP.
8. Justin âJBâ Bernstein: the baby Breaker who became a Bull Sharks legend.
JB has done it all in Bull Sharks colours, premierships in second grade and third grade, a long stint in the Prems and in Round 4 against Souths, he notched his 200th game. A true club man.
9. Uncle Lawrence: life membership for the life-changing mentor.

Through four straight premierships, the premier womenâs side has had one constant - coach, mentor and âuncleâ Lawrence Faifua. Softly spoken but fiercely competitive, Lawrence Faifua makes a positive impact on everyone who plays under him. The life membership is a tribute to his incredible legacy.
10. Netballâs miracle comeback: the first Sapphire crown

Underdogs, 14 points down at half-time and staring at defeat against the most successful franchise in HPNL history. So what? The Sapphire squad refused to yield, roaring back with 22 second-half goals. With a minute to go Kirra Tappenden drains an ice-cold Super Shot sealed a one-point win and Bondâs first-ever Premier Netball League title.
