The Bull Sharks fought it out in the local derby against Gold Coast Titans. Although the game consisted of many positive moments, the women dropped away in the final quarter as they recorded a 9-point loss.
Coach Kim Boland was happy to see the hard work the team has been putting in at training playing out throughout the game but highlighted the need to focus on valuing possession.
Bull Sharks v Gold Coast Titans at Nissan Arena
Bull Sharks lost 58-49
How it was lost
Unfortunately, we went down to the Titans in the final three minutes of the game. It was a tightly contested, seesawing battle with multiple lead changes. We entered the fourth quarter with a one-goal lead, but once again lost sight of our game plan and focus in those crucial final minutes. A few costly errors allowed the game to slip away from us.
What made you happy
There were plenty of positive moments throughout the game. We saw clear signs of the hard work we've been putting in.
Bull Sharks Netball
Games against the Titans are always fiercely contested and very physical. I was proud of how the girls supported each other post-game and showed accountability for the result.
The work to do
I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it, we must continue to focus on valuing possession. We’re winning quality ball across the court, but we’re still struggling to consistently convert that into goals. Connecting our defensive efforts with our attack remains a key area for improvement.
Trademark Players
Harriet Nicholson had another standout performance, coming up with some crucial defensive gains. Jorja Gisinger was rock solid under the post, shooting at 100% for the match, including a super shot.
