Sharks expect physical test against Thunder

Jorja Gisinger
Jorja Gisinger, who shot at 100 per cent against the Titans, will again be a key player.

The Bull Sharks will be desperate to return to the winners list when they face Sunshine Coast this weekend.

Kim Boland’s side finished on top of the Thunder on last year’s ladder, however a few new faces in their team means the Bull Sharks aren’t sure what to expect.

One thing they can be sure of is that their physicality will be put to the test by the  Thunder’s well established style of play.

Bull Sharks v Sunshine Coast Thunder at Nissan Arena

Last time we met

2024 Round 10, Bull Sharks lost 52-45

The game was very physical, and Thunder really stepped up their efforts against us. We needed to be flexible and adjust our style of play when necessary, and we also needed to stick to the game plan.

The opposition

Thunder returns this season with a squad featuring plenty of new faces, making them a bit of an unknown, but it is a challenge we are ready for.

 The challenge

We’re expecting a physical contest, as Thunder always brings intensity. The key for us is to stay true to our brand of netball and not get drawn into their style of play.

 Shuffling the magnets

Last week presented some late changes due to injury and illness, and unfortunately, we’re still in a similar position. We're taking it day by day to assess availability for game day.

Ones to watch

It’s hard to single anyone out this week—we’ll need all 11 athletes to step up if we’re going to come away with the win.

The focus

Maintaining focus for a full 60 minutes is our top priority. We need to stay composed and not let the uncontrollable disrupt our game.

The final word

This is a must-win game for us as we look to bounce back and rebuild confidence after a disappointing loss to the Titans.
