The Reds Women Super Rugby team has been announced, with seven Bull Sharks putting pen to paper for the 2026 season.
It marks Bond’s largest contribution of women’s rugby players to the Reds’ side in our history.
Bond Doctor of Physiotherapy student and star flanker, Zoe Hanna will head into her second season at The Reds.

“I’m a lot more comfortable coming into my second season,” Hanna said.
“Pre-season has been a big training block with lots of work, it’s a slightly later season this year so it’s been a bit colder and rainy.
“It’s great, we’re a very close team. Having so many Bond girls in the squad has definitely made carpooling up from the coast easier.”
Hanna has returned from injury after she dislocated her shoulder in Bond's semi-final against Wests last year. She made her comeback last Saturday when Bond smashed Brothers 49 – 0.
Reds women’s head coach, Adam Fraser praised Bond for their high-level women's rugby program.
“Bond University is a powerhouse in women’s rugby and there are a number of women who come to the Reds with that strong mentality,” Fraser said.
Ava Wereta and Kaelyn Passi move across from the Reds 7s program, while scrumhalf, Evie Sampson who was called into the Wallaroos managed group has also been signed. English national Lucy Thorpe will join the side after missing out last year and 2025 co-captain, Jemma Bemrose also returns to the lineup. Former Ipswich Jets fly-half, Akira Kelly returns as well.
The Red’s Women Super Rugby season kicks off against The Brumbies on June 6th.
