Bull Sharks silence Thunder

Netball Ruby
The Ruby side celebrate a hard fought win

The Bull Sharks bounced back from off a bruising derby loss against Gold Coast Titans to secure a 12 –point victory over Sunshine Coast Thunder on Sunday night.

As expected, it was a highly physical match, and the Bull Sharks had to remain composed and maintain their clean and disciplined brand of netball.

Goal attack Evie Stower had near perfect shooting accuracy which was invaluable to the team's success.

How it was won

Our girls really dug deep to claim a hard-fought win over Thunder. As expected, it was a highly physical match, but we stood strong, stuck to our game plan, and played true to our Bull Sharks brand of netball. The resilience and composure shown under pressure is a credit to the whole team.

What made you happy

Defensively, we turned over some crucial ball and saw exciting connections developing right across the court. This week also marked a noticeable improvement in how we linked our attacking and defensive ends, which was a big focus heading into the game.

Matches against Thunder are always intense and physical. It was fantastic to see the team remain composed, play our style, and not be drawn into Thunder’s game. The girls showed great discipline, unity, and trust in one another.

The work to do

There is always room for improvement. All units need to sharpen up and be intentional with our decisions under pressure. Our through court attack needs to be refined to better capitalise the high number of gains we are creating in our defence.

Trademark players

It’s hard to single out just one, as it was a whole team effort. That said, Evie Stower stood out with a strong performance, shooting 18/21 and 6/7 super shots. A composed and confident effort under some intense defensive pressure.
