That’s got to sting.
The Hornet’s weapons are simply no match for the Bull Shark’s bite - especially around finals season.
The Bull Sharks defeated Aspley in the 2023 QAFLW Grand Final, the 2024 Preliminary Final and Saturday was no different with the women plucking their stingers in the elimination final.
The 66-point victory was a full team effort. QAFLW 2025 leading goal kicker, Kendra Blattman continued her prowess kicking five majors and Shannon Nolan dominated in the midfield with 28 disposals.
QAFLW
Bull Sharks v Coorparoo at The Canal
Bull Sharks won 14.9 (93) - 4.3 (27)
How it was won
It was a full team effort, 21 players all playing their role. We dismantled them defensively with 14 goals to four from 23 shots to seven on goal.
What made you happy
I’m really happy with our stoppage work, we dominated centre bounce clearances and stoppages around the game, which allowed us to play the game in our front half.
Bull Sharks Footy
Our defensive pressure and contest and tackle work was first class, it was the best it's been all year.
Work to do
Our accuracy in front of goal. We still missed four or five really easy shots. We’re working on trying to get shots from better positions on the ground rather than out wide. That’s the culmination of our ball use of half back.
Trademark Players
Shannon Nolan was outstanding, as was Ella Calleja, Maisy Evans and Jasmyn Davidson. Our entire midfield dominated. Kendra Blattman continued her amazing form at full forward with five goals. Annabel Foat back from QLD academy duties gave us some real class and poise through the middle of the ground.
