Bachelor of Legal Transformation

Program overview

In this time of radical change, the industry needs a new kind of professional … and they're not lawyers.

The legal industry is changing rapidly because of new technologies, new providers, and shifting client expectations. Lawyers and officers of the court operate across multiple jurisdictions – from country to country, from the real world to the virtual world, from traditional media and paper files to social media and cloud storage.

This brave new world is disrupting how the law is interpreted, applied, and practised at every level.

Bond's Bachelor of Legal Transformation is designed for people who want to work in the legal world but not as practising legal professionals. It focusses on the operation and development of digital technologies, design thinking and innovation to transform how legal services are delivered.

The program offers students an immersive, transdisciplinary learning experience, drawing knowledge from multiple faculties and study disciplines to equip graduates with a robust view of legal transformation, a flexible skillset, and a niche area of specialisation.

The Bachelor of Legal Transformation can be completed in just two years. As a multidimensional degree, there are no limits to where this future-focussed qualification can take you.

If this has sparked your interest, however, you want the option to become a qualified solicitor then consider Bond’s Bachelor of Laws where you can double major in legal transformation.

“The law firm of the future will, I believe, have less lawyers in it, and more skillsets of project managers, data scientists, people with technology and design-thinking skills. There will be lots of people who will help lawyers deliver legal services, in different ways.”

Melanie Ryan - Head of Client Solutions ALT
  • As a former corporate lawyer who established a legal technology company in 2015, I am incredibly supportive of Bond University’s transformation programs and their willingness to be on the cutting edge of legal education. The industry has changed dramatically, with new roles being created both within corporate legal teams and law firms that focus on operations, innovation and solution designs. Bond University’s Transformation Degrees will give students the basis they need to study law, but also provide avenues into these exciting, new career opportunities within the legal sector.
