Faculty of Law costs

Studying in the Faculty of Law, you may need to factor in some additional costs based on the subjects or additional opportunities you choose to complete. These additional costs cover the practical, placement or overseas experiences that you can take advantage of during your degree; for example, study tours.

Placements, clerkships and work experience

Placements are an exciting part of a number of programs in the Faculty of Law. Additionally, clerkships and work experience opportunities are available locally, nationally and internationally. If you enrol in a subject with a compulsory placement or choose to undertake a clerkship or work experience opportunity, you will be responsible for all costs associated with the placement or opportunity, such as supervision fees, transport, accommodation, living expenses, business attire and other incidental costs (as required).

The following elective subjects include a placement component. Students will be responsible for all costs associated with the placement, such as transport, business attire and other incidental costs.

  • LAWS13/77-515 Clinical Legal Placement (elective)
  • LAWS13/77-551 Family Law Legal Practice Clinic (elective)
  • LAWS13/77-593 Cultural Immersion Clinic (elective)

The following subjects are taught in overseas countries. Students enrolled in these elective subjects are required to pay for airfares, accommodation, in-country transfers, some meals and other costs.
