Philosophy Revamped

The author, Alan Chan, has a passion for East-West cultural interactions nurtured by his experience in translating and bilingual broadcasting in his early years.

He switched to the business world at his prime, working his way up from a salesman to corporate executive, to shipowner. He sold his business in 2007, before the shipping crisis.

He now keeps a base named after his ancient ancestor as Zengzi Desk (????) within the Confucius Institute, NTU Singapore. He is a Fellow with the Centre for East- West Cultural and Economic Studies at Bond University. In his own words, he has come to his true element at these two institutions.
