Hollow Coves headline Live at Bond before whirlwind European tour

Gold Coast Music Awardsโ€™ Breakout Artist of the Year and Song of the Year winners, Hollow Coves, will headline Live at Bond this weekend, with the free outdoor concert to wrap up their sold-out Australian circuit, before the duo jet-set to Europe for a major tour.

The dynamic indie folk group is expected to play to a packed crowd at Bond University's ADCO Amphitheatre on Sunday, September 9, with their unique sound - which is influenced by Angus & Julia Stone, Ben Howard and The Paper Kites - attracting a fast-growing following.

Hollow Coves is the brainchild of Ryan Henderson and Matt Carins, who met in 2013 through mutual friends, a shared love of acoustic music and passion for travel. The group has become renowned for their evocative music that is influenced by their journeys around the globe.

Hollow Coves released their debut EP Wanderlust last year, featuring the hugely popular track The Woods, and Coastline, which earned them their Gold Coast Music Award.

Matt said Live at Bond was a great way to end their whirlwind Australian tour.

โ€œIt will be refreshing to do a relaxed afternoon show outdoors where we can play some great tunes and really entertain the crowd,โ€ he said.

โ€œWe are also looking forward to saying thank you to our local fans for their continued support, before we head overseas for our biggest tour yet.โ€

Bond Universityโ€™s Manager Engagement, Sharon Solyma said Live at Bond was an opportunity to showcase one of the fastest rising musical acts on the Gold Coast music scene.

โ€œHollow Coves is positioned to become one of the next biggest things in Australian music so it is an honour to have them play at Bond University before they skyrocket to stardom - and best of all, the gig is free for anyone to attend,โ€ she said.

โ€œWe also have brilliant four-piece band, Hazel Mei, as our opening act, and they are sure to entertain the crowd with their jazz-inspired melodies and poetic lyrics.โ€

The Live at Bond event will be held in the outdoor ADCO Amphitheatre from 3pm on Sunday, September 9, with free entry and all ages welcome. On campus parking is also available for free.
