Breakers Double Victory at last home game for 2013

There were many reasons for the Bond University Breakers and their supporters to celebrate at their final home game of the season last Saturday.

In what was an astoundingly high-scoring game, the Breakers Premiers team defeated Norths 54-51, much to the delight of the big, and very vocal, home crowd. The victory was especially sweet for flyhalf Vitori Buatava who celebrated his 100th game for the club.

The fast improving 1st grade team celebrated their second win in a row, beating Norths 34-27. Our three recruits from PNG put in another sterling performance this week, with the entire team now looking forward to their last game of the season against Souths at Souths this Saturday.

Meanwhile the Colts were bought back to earth when they were narrowly defeated by Norths 14-12 in what was the surprise result of the day. No doubt the boys will be right back on track at training this week for what looks to be a tough game against Souths this weekend ahead of the finals the following week.

But nothing could dampen the enthusiasm of the many Breakers Old Boys who’d come to Bond to cheer on our boys, relive their own sporting triumphs with former teammates and reminisce over the array of Breakers memorabilia on display in the Club rooms.
