The Bond Business School at Bond University has earned initial accreditation by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs.
Today, there are more than 687 business schools in 45 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation. Similarly, 182 institutions maintain an additional specialised AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs.
âIt takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn AACSB Accreditation,â said Robert D. Reid, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB International.
âBusiness schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.â
Professor Mark Hirst, Bondâs Dean of Business said the AACSB Accreditation highlighted the Facultyâs commitment to delivering high quality programs, research and community engagement at internationally recognised levels.
âThis accreditation provides our current students, future students and stakeholders with the assurance that the quality of our teaching and curricula is of the highest-calibre internationally and that our faculty, people and processes are working together to produce outstanding graduates,â said Professor Hirst.
âWe are very proud to be joining the elite group of international AACSB accredited institutions and look forward to the learnings and continuous improvement ahead, which will ensure we maintain our position alongside the worldâs best business schools.
âBecoming AACSB accredited also signals that we are genuinely delivering on our mission statement of âbuilding tomorrowâs business leaders, one by oneâ.
âAt Bond, we pride ourselves on our small class sizes and low student-to-staff ratio that enable an individualised approach to learning and a high level of engagement between our Faculty and students.
âOur students benefit from being part of an international cohort from over 80 countries, which ensures that diverse perspectives and ideas from around the world are shared, creating a truly international education and global career opportunities.â
âUnderpinning our student learning experience is the world-class research currently being undertaken by the Facultyâs academic staff and PhD students.â
Prior to Bond obtaining AACSB Accreditation, the University ranked number 1 for satisfaction, in the top 5 value for money, and top 10 for research in Australian Financial Reviewâs 2013 BOSS Survey - Australiaâs only independent national ranking of MBA programs. Bondâs MBA ranked in the top five in the country and its Executive MBA in the top three.
