A French Butler Called Smith to serve up an afternoon of free entertainment at Bond

One of the Gold Coast’s best Sunday afternoons out, ‘Live at Bond’, is back for September with one of its biggest events to date.

Popular Gold Coast-based world music band and Triple J favourites, A French Butler Called Smith are headlining this month’s ‘Live at Bond’ event, on Sunday September 25 from 3pm – 5pm at Bond University’s ADCO Amphitheatre.

The band has been winning over audiences and critics alike at festivals across Australia with their high-energy, Latin, funk, gypsy and world-roots instrumental fusion sound and their incredible live sets.

Get your dancing shoes on and prepare to be captivated by the infectious joy of acoustic guitar aficionado, Scott French, bass maestro Jake ‘the Butler’ Martin, respected world percussion artist Brennan Smith, Mark Gibson on saxophone and Liam ‘Rasta’ Dorney on trumpet.

‘Live at Bond’ is an ongoing event, held once a month as part of Bond University’s commitment to arts, culture and the community. Live at Bond began on Sunday, July 31 and the 2011 series continues through until Sunday, November 27.

It’s the perfect mix of free music and entertainment, lakeside at Bond University.

Wine, beer, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be available for purchase at each event, for those who enjoy a quiet beverage and some food with their music.
