Growing up in apartheid-era South Africa, Stephen van Rooyen’s view of the world was shaped, in part, by state-controlled television. Forty years later, van Rooyen is the UK and Ireland chief executive of media behemoth Sky, and in a uniquely powerful position to himself help shape how the world is viewed by millions of people.
