About the position
Situated within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, the Bond University Medical Program is comprised of two sequential degrees, the Bachelor of Medical Studies and the Doctor of Medicine. The program has full accreditation with the Australian Medical Council and places a strong emphasis on the quality of student experience. The Quality Indicators of Learning and Teaching (QILT) rankings have listed Bond University Medicine number 1 in Australia for student satisfaction with teaching quality, student support and skill development.
To support a new intake of students in September 2020, multiple key academic appointments are available. These positions are ideal for individuals with capacity to promote a culture of excellence in medical education and research across a range of disciplines. This provides an opportunity for the Medical Program to further develop its teaching and research in First Nations Health and in interprofessional education.
With the support of senior academic staff, these positions are vital in the development of curriculum resources, assessment items and delivery of foundation and/or behavioural science content within the Medical Program. Assistant Professors are expected to establish research activities in an area that is synergistic with existing research within the faculty. Particular areas of interest include but are not limited to medical education fields including curriculum development, student assessment, interprofessional education, stigma in healthcare, professionalism, First nations health and education, evidence based practice, social and behavioural science, psychology, urology or stem cell research.
- About the person:
To be considered for these appointments, successful candidates will possess a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline. Candidates will have a developing track record of effective teaching, research and academic administration within the higher education sector, ideally within a medical education context. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in teams with academics from multiple disciplines is essential.

Assistant Professor B remuneration commences at $117,334.56 per annum plus 9.5% superannuation.
Assistant Professor A remuneration commences at $139,161.81 per annum plus 9.5% superannuation.
The Selection Committee will make a determination about the rank of appointment based on the skills and experience of the successful incumbent/s.
