This subject develops a mature understanding of the management of the processes associated with the production of contract documents particularly those that are integrated with cost management. There is an emphasis on emerging and innovative technologies and techniques that integrate activities such as complex building measurement with a range of information management tools. Strong links are developed with the quantity surveying profession and the wider construction industry through guest lectures and case studies of projects presented by industry professionals. Related aspects of professional practice are explored.

Minimum marks are required for each assessment and students must score at least 50% in the exam as well as achieving an aggregarte score of at least 50% in order to pass this subject.

A frequent cause of failure is lack of attention to subject or assignment guidelines.|
For the purposes of quality assurance, Bond University conducts an evaluation process to measure and document student assessment as evidence of the extent to which program and subject learning outcomes are achieved. Some examples of student work will be retained for potential research and quality auditing purposes only. Any student work used will be treated confidentially and no student grades will be affected.

Policy on late submission and extensions
A late penalty will be applied to all overdue assessment tasks unless an extension is granted by the subject coordinator. The standard penalty will be 10% of marks awarded to that assessment per day late with no assessment to be accepted seven days after the due date. Where a student is granted an extension, the penalty of 10% per day late starts from the new due date.
Policy on plagiarism
University’s Academic Integrity Policy defines plagiarism as the act of misrepresenting as one’s own original work: another’s ideas, interpretations, words, or creative works; and/or one’s own previous ideas, interpretations, words, or creative work without acknowledging that it was used previously (i.e., self-plagiarism). The University considers the act of plagiarising to be a breach of the Student Conduct Code and, therefore, subject to the Discipline Regulations which provide for a range of penalties including the reduction of marks or grades, fines and suspension from the University.
Feedback on assessment
Feedback on assessment will be provided to students within two weeks of the assessment submission due date, as per the Assessment Policy.

Additional subject information
The Faculty's grading system states that 'if a lecturer's assessment method contains elements that must be passed in order for a student to pass the subject, and if a student fails one of these elements, but otherwise has a passing cumulative score, then the percentage mark awarded is 46% and the grade is Fail'. To gain a pass in this subject you must satisfy three criteria: you must gain at least 40% in each of the first three assessment tasks, and you must gain at least 50% for the class test and you must gain an aggregate or cumulative score (i.e. the sum of the marks for the four assessment tasks) of at least 50 (of a possible 100) - failure to satisfy any criterion will result in a 46 Fail. Please note: If you fail by a narrow margin you may be offered the chance to do some extra assignment work Extra assignment work must be completed satisfactorily and on time if the failing mark is to become a pass. In such cases the maximum final (total) mark will not be more than 50.
