PHIL11-106: Understanding East Asian Cultures


This subject introduces the basis for understanding East Asian cultures and their expanding significance in the world. Understanding East Asian Cultures explores the connection between Eastern and Western cultures and philosophies. The subject examines the connection and balance between humans and nature in the major philosophical and religious traditions of the East Asian region. It also examines key ideas including happiness, relationships, respect and responsibility, and how these values inspire creative solutions to contemporary problems.
