Professional biography

Mark has spent 35 years in practice as a qualified Architect and Product Designer project, directing award-winning projects for three very divergent international London-based design studios - Ian Ritchie (Architects), Heatherwick Studio and Crab Studio with Sir Peter Cook. Markโ€™s expertise is directing projects from concept (often competition) to completion and ensuring original design integrity is not lost in construction. Notable amongst these projects was the Abedian School of Architecture at Bond University. Project experience spans from architectural component design through to Master planning and includes residential/mixed-use, culture, the architecture of caring, sports academy, transport, museums, hotels and university projects in the UK, France, Hong Kong, Australia, Ireland and Austria.  

Mark is a graduate of the Architectural Association and the universities of Kingston, Brighton and Ravensbourne. In the teaching capacity Mark has been a Studio Coordinator at Norwich University of the Arts (UK) and University of Tasmania. He has also lectured at the Bartlett (London) and been a visiting critic at Brighton and Greenwich Universities in the UK and the University of Queensland (UQ). Mark has been responsible for rewriting and teaching the curriculum for the architectural programme at the International Architecture Foundation School that feeds into the University of Queensland. Mark currently teaches and writes curriculum for studio and technology subjects. 

Recently Mark co-founded studio_trajectif an interdisciplinary research group and develops rural residential properties with an interest in land conservation.
