Academic Skills Centre offers a range of free workshops. Recordings, workshop materials, and other resources are available via the ASC iLearn community.

Our workshop schedule typically runs from Orientation Week through to Week 5.  

If you can't attend, please make an appointment with Academic Skills Centre and we will go through the session with you personally one on one.

This is a general introduction to what is expected from academic writing at university. It focuses on organising your paper, approaching the question and style.

Studying Smart and Managing Your Time

Effective study tips to maximise your study potential. This workshop looks at time management, studying effectively & ways to learn actively.

Academic Writing for Study Abroad and Exchange Students

This workshop looks at some of the differences between Australian academic writing and other countries, as well as typical mistakes. We also talk about ways to make the most of your time in Australia.

APA Referencing

This workshop looks at ways of avoiding plagiarism by using APA 7th edition referencing style. 

Get Ready to Write!

By now you will have some assignments to write. This workshop reviews some of the Dos and Don'ts of academic writing and includes techniques to beat writer's block and be a productive writer.
