Description
IT Law, Privacy and Cyber-Security is a compulsory subject in the Master of Laws in Enterprise Governance offered by the Faculty of Law. The subject will examine the laws regulating information technology, privacy and cyber-security as they apply to enterprises as well as the consequences of non-compliance. Students will learn about the key features and legal challenges associated with new technologies, learn how to assess and manage privacy risks, and appreciate the importance of cyber-security to a successful enterprise.

Learning outcomes
- Describe the key features and legal challenges of IT, both at an enterprise level and globally, inclusive of dealing with regulators, clients and other stakeholders
- Explain the enterprise’s legal obligations with respect to privacy, assess privacy risks and apply principles of enterprise governance to manage those risks
- Describe legal implications of recent and potential future cyber-threats, and develop enterprise strategies to minimise and mitigate them
