Learning outcomes
- Students will assimilate and evaluate information about franchising from a range of sources. Students will gain an understanding of and structure of regulatory framework for the franchise sector in Australia.
- Students will develop effective working capabilities and expand their knowledge of the topic through completing classwork in groups, evaluating and negotiating contracts and dispute resolution exercises.
- Students will improve their oral skills by presenting to the class on a topic regarding franchising law and/or regulation.
- Students will develop writing skills by writing a paper outlining and explaining the issues of their presentation topic.
- Students will develop an appreciation of ethical issues involved in the practice of franchising.

Assumed knowledge is the minimum level of knowledge of a subject area that students are assumed to have acquired through previous study. It is the responsibility of students to ensure they meet the assumed knowledge expectations of the subject. Must have completed a minimum 120 Credit Points of LAWS subjects AND have a minimum average of 65% in LAWS subjects. Must be admitted into a Bachelor Law degree OR Bachelor of Laws combined degree OR be an approved Study Abroad OR Exchange Law Student. This subject is not available as a general elective. To be eligible for enrolment, the subject must be specified in the students’ program structure. |
