Description

The subject begins with a series of lectures on global business issues. It involves several visits to companies in the target country, enabling students to experience how global business issues are managed within the target context. The Study Tour is designed to allow students to reflect upon and contrast theories and frameworks from their program subjects with experiential learning in the target country/company visits.

Learning outcomes

  1. Apply appropriate analytical frameworks to describe the features of the host country.
  2. Discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by the organisations operating in the Southeast Asia area.
  3. Compare the learner's home country and the destination country in terms of the social and cultural factors that are relevant to business and management.
  4. Reflect on their own personal learning and development experiences through the study tour.

Assumed knowledge:

Assumed knowledge is the minimum level of knowledge of a subject area that students are assumed to have acquired through previous study. It is the responsibility of students to ensure they meet the assumed knowledge expectations of the subject. Students who do not possess this prior knowledge are strongly recommended against enrolling and do so at their own risk. No concessions will be made for students’ lack of prior knowledge.
