Rebecca Stower spearheads the Bull Sharks’ return to Sapphire Series

By Grace Knight

Queensland U17 coach Rebecca Stower has been appointed Head Coach of Bond University Netball ahead of the Bull Sharks’ return to the HART Sapphire Series next year.

Stower most recently led the coaching team for Toowoomba’s Darling Downs Panthers.

The Bull Sharks are stepping up from the second tier Ruby Series and Stower said she was looking to bolster the club’s talent pool when she takes up her post in November.

“There’s such a wealth of experience and talent on the Gold Coast and I’m hoping to see some of those girls who may have slipped away through the Ruby season make a comeback into the fold now that we’re back in the Sapphire league,” she said.

“But most of all I really just want to create an environment where players can learn, grow and collaborate to have a really successful season both on and off the court.”

Stower first played netball as a five-year-old and represented Queensland at U17, U19 and U21 level and was selected for the Australian U19 side which led to a scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport.
