New student sports reporter: Grace Hamilton

My name is Grace Hamilton and I am thrilled to join the Bond Newsroom as a Sports Reporter.

In this new role, I’m excited to be writing about the Bull Sharks triumphs on and off the field (and court). Bond sport is filled with committed athletes, coaches and volunteers, and I hope to shed light on those who contribute to our success.

This September will be my sixth semester studying Journalism, and I intend to finish my degree early 2023.

Sport is in my blood. Although I come from Stockleigh, a semi-rural town on the outskirts of Brisbane that is not known for its sport,  growing up I always had a passion for competing and winning.

In high school, I decided to dedicate my hard work to Netball, and slowly made my way up the ranks. From 2019-2021 I was a part of the HSS Ruby Series, representing Bond rival, Carina Leagues Club Tigers.

On many occasions over the past 18 months, I’ve been able to connect my love of sport and writing to produce articles on women in sport and HSS round match reports.

This experience has ignited my interest in sports journalism as a profession and provided me with valuable experience that I am happy to be able to build on here in the Bond Newsroom.
