Club Corner: Bond Dance Club

Bond Dance Club

The Club Corner – Dance

Each week on the Club Corner we will profile one of Bond University's social sport clubs.

This week the spotlight is on the Bond Dance club.

What is the Bond Dance Club

Dance Sport is a new club designed for all students, whether you have dance experience or have never danced before, there is always a spot for you here.

If you're someone who loves a challenge, we provide the opportunity for students to join our competition team during the January semester each year. If you're someone who just wants to have a bit of fun, we offer weekly social classes where you can learn new dance routines and go over all the basics.

Greatest achievement

Last year our representative team competed in their first ever competition, UniSport Nationals.

Why join Bond Dance Club

Sometimes dance can be intimidating and often nerve racking for the first time. We pride ourselves on giving students a supportive environment to learn and grow their skills. Our social classes are smaller than typical dance studios, providing you with the perfect opportunity to try dance in a small setting without social pressures. Even though dance can be hard, we always provide students with a variety of options, whether it be difficulty or style, so you can choose what's best for you!

One word to describe Bond dance club

Emerging

Club culture champions

Our dance culture is all about being supportive to each other and bringing the energy. Whether we perform all together, in groups or individually, Elleia Tampi always has the best attitude! She loves to get everyone involved and cheering for each other. Her amazing hip-hop choreography is not one to miss.

Fun traditions and rivalries

For our representative team, we meet the night before our competition and write notes to each other about our hard work and dedication to the team. On competition days, we always start with stretching outside, playing games to ease our nerves and saying some motivational affirmations before performing on stage.

Fiercest Rival

Since UniSport Nationals, our fiercest rivals are Macquarie University and University of Sydney.
