Bull Sharks still in the finals hunt with one round left to play.

Jayden Molo was prominent against the Tigers

The Sapphire side secured a crucial win to keep their finals hopes alive while the Ruby girls fell short against the competition leaders.

Sapphire

Bull Sharks won 62-46

Where was it won:

This game was much more consistent than previous ones. We executed a full-court defensive effort and focused on valuing our ball possession. While there is still room for improvement in this area, it was a unified effort overall.

The highlight:

Having both Jayden Molo and Mia Stower back at full capacity enhanced the depth of our roster and improved our ability to adapt to the opposition with strategic substitutions and rolling subs.

What made you happy:

This was a crucial win, keeping us in contention for the finals.

Bull Sharks Netball:

We have worked hard all season, facing disruptions nearly every week to our training and player roster. However, to the girls' credit, they have focused on what they can control, building connections with the available players and fine-tuning key focus areas.

The work to do:

Our final round is approaching, and it's another must-win game. Additionally, our fate in making the finals will depend on the outcome of another match.

Trademark player:

I know it sounds cliché, but it truly was a full team effort with every player contributing to our success. Even those off the court stayed engaged, allowing them to make an immediate impact when they got on the court.

Ruby

Bull Sharks lost 66-49

Where was it lost:

This game was lost unfortunately due to our inconsistency. While there were patches where we demonstrated the way we know we can play, these were not consistent throughout the entire 60 minutes of the game. The Tigers capitalised on this inconsistency and punished us on the scoreboard for it.

What made you happy:

Despite the loss, it was encouraging to see the team fight back and reduce the scoreline. Winning the last quarter showcased our ability to regroup and perform under pressure, which is a positive takeaway moving forward.

The work to do:

As we approach the final game of the season, which is a home game, it's crucial to secure a win. Our chances of making the finals hinge on this match as well as the outcome of another game. Therefore, our focus this week will be on maintaining consistency and delivering a strong, full-game effort to ensure we finish the season on a high note.

Trademark player:

Ocean Karekare stood out with a consistent performance. She was instrumental in turning over some valuable ball.  Abi Houston also made an immediate impact. Her strong performance provided a significant boost and together with Tehya Hyssett was able to stop the Tigers from scoring only the 1 super shot in the final quarter of the game.
