Bull Sharks eye third spot in clash with Thunder

The Bull Sharks Sapphire squad will be looking to leapfrog the Sunshine Coast Thunder into third place on the ladder when the two sides meet at Nissan Arena while the fifth placed Ruby side are trying to claw their way into finals contention.

Sapphire Series

Last time they met:

Rd 4, 2024 at Sunshine Coast.

Bull Sharks lost 78-72.

Where it will be won:

We are hoping to have our full team available to us for Wednesday night’s game. I think we have taken on board a lot of learnings from Rd 1 against Thunder and will apply those to our game plan.

One to watch:

Lauren Aubrey has shown such significant growth, I am looking forward to seeing her match up against Charlie Bell again. First time around was a bit of a baptism of fire for her.

The focus:

We are winning some really good ball, so I really want to see us treasure our possession this game.

Shuffling the magnets:

It hasn’t happened too often lately, but at this stage we have our full team available.

The final word:

Our aim is to slow their transition through court and to work hard to disrupt before they can get the ball to their star shooter Charlie Bell.

With Rebecca Stower.

Ruby Series

Last time they met:

Round 4, 2024 at Sunshine Coast.

Bull Sharks won 59-24.

Where it will be won:

Harriet Nicholson v Titans

We are looking for a full team defensive effort again this week. Sadly, in the last few games we have not stuck to the game plan. We will be looking to achieve this against the Thunder by staying task focused for the entire game.

The focus:

There are two areas we really want to excel in this week. We’re looking to improve on our gain percentage, and we want to value the possession of ball that we win.

Shuffling the magnets:

We will again be without captain Harriet Nicholson who is out with an ankle injury from the Panthers game. Her replacement is to be confirmed.

The final word:

We are preparing for a tough game. Thunder are a tough physical opponent and we will need to stick to our game plane 100 per cent if we want to take the win from them.

With Kim Boland.
