Bond University supports Brisbane Lions Women’s team

The Brisbane Lions today proudly announced a new partnership with Bond University.

Bond University will be the ‘Official Coaches Partner’ of the Brisbane Lions Women’s team, with the University’s  branding appearing on the coaches apparel and media backdrop.

Bond’s vision is to be Australia’s leading destination for Sports Education. The University has a strong association with AFL, with its men’s senior team winning two of its last three premierships and as a result being catapulted into progressively higher divisions, year-on-year.

Bond’s women’s team, now in its third year, has shown remarkable growth and progress over its short history. They were very unlucky to miss out on a premiership spot last season, but look very promising for the year ahead.

Bond’s Executive Director of Sport, Garry Nucifora said the University was extremely proud to partner with the Brisbane Lions women’s team.

“At Bond, sport is part of our DNA. We are staunch champions of women’s sport and the creation of pathways to enable more opportunities for young players to develop into elite female athletes and professionals through coaching, conditioning, mentoring and education,” he said.

“In the past few weeks we have witnessed the nation getting behind women’s football to an extent never seen before, and Bond University is proud to cement its support of women’s AFL through this partnership with the Brisbane Lions.”

Brisbane Lions Women’s CEO Breeanna Brock said: “We’re really excited to have Bond University on board with us on our journey in our inaugural AFL Women’s season.”
