Professional biography

Tanisha Jowsey joined Bond University in 2022 as Associate Professor of Medical Education and Professionalism. She is a social scientist with extensive experience in health professions research and teaching. Tanisha has an international reputation in health services research concerning patients' experiences with chronic illness, communication and teamwork among healthcare professionals, and student learning in the health professions. Tanisha’s research has been used to inform healthcare policies by the World Health Oganization (WHO) and the UK National Institute for Clinical Evidence (NICE). She has over 140 published works, including books, community reports, >80 peer-reviewed publications, and 12 ethnographic and autoethnographic documentary films. Tanisha has designed and facilitated successful curricula for multiple international tertiary education settings in New Zealand, Australia, and China.
